Most dining rewards make you choose where to link your card. OpenTable's relaunched Regulars program (October 2025) sidesteps the whole question: it rewards the reservation, not the payment — which means it stacks on top of every other program you run.
Earning
- 100 points per completed reservation booked directly on OpenTable; select reservations pay up to 1,000 points.
- No-shows earn nothing, and bookings made through third-party widgets may not count — book in the OpenTable app or site.
Redeeming
From 2,000 points you can redeem for:
| Option | Notes |
|---|---|
| Dining credit toward your bill | Value varies by participating restaurant; a redemption link is emailed and expires after a year |
| Prepaid experiences | Prix fixe menus, tastings, events |
| Amazon gift cards | Roughly $10 per 2,000 points |
Realistic value lands around half a cent to a cent per point — modest, but it's earned for something you were doing anyway.
Gold status: the actual prize
Complete six reservations within 12 months and you get Gold for a year (renewable the same way). Two benefits matter:
- Priority Notify Me — when a booked-out restaurant gets a cancellation, Gold members are alerted before everyone else. For hard-to-book restaurants this is the single most useful perk in the program.
- Six months of free Uber One for new Gold members — Uber ride credits and $0 delivery fees on Uber Eats.
If you make a reservation every other month, you qualify without thinking about it.
Why it stacks with everything
Regulars involves no card linking, so it never collides with the one-card rule. A fully stacked dinner: book on OpenTable (100 pts) → claim an Upside offer → pay with a 4x dining card that's linked to your card-linked program of choice → trigger an issuer offer. Four independent layers, zero conflicts.
Verdict
Never book a table anywhere else without checking OpenTable first. The points are pocket change; Gold's priority waitlist and the free Uber One are the real return on a habit that costs nothing to change.
